Slice the burger bun in half and lightly butter the inside. 2. Toast both halves in a pan until golden brown. 3. Shape the ground beef into a patty slightly larger than the bun. 4. Season both sides with salt and black pepper. 5. Cook the patty for about 3–4 minutes per side. 6. Place the cheddar cheese on top and let it melt. 7. Spread ketchup on the bottom bun. 8.
