Thank you for this. I realised as I listened that my partner has been approaching it as connection and love and I haven’t. This is life changing advice.

My last bf literally said having sex was how he felt loved. It was unnerving.

also deconstruct the hierarchy of intimacy.
as I am exploring my asexuality, realizing that there are many forms of intimate connection without having all of it culminate in sexual penetration and orgasm.
it will change how you view connection and relationships

My son's father expected me to have sex immediately after giving vaginal birth.
I had level 2 and 3 tears. I needed stitches.
he was angry that I refused. that I wasn't in the "mood".
my crotch was on fire, torn, and stitched. 😒
he still forced himself on me in the first few weeks post pardom. it was disgusting and painful.
I've quite literally been single since leaving him 11 years ago.

No sex is a deal breaker for me. After 10 years of nothing I’m finally divorced. Not sure why I waited so long.

Have to disagree with you here. Sex is definitely a need for both men and women.

Yeah, absolutely NOT. If I’m having sex, I’m having an orgasm. No way, no how is that negotiable. This ‘advice’ just reinforces the orgasm gap! And the idea that women’s pleasure during sex is secondary, or not important at all. Too many men already consider women’s pleasure to be ‘too difficult’ or ‘not worth it’ and the solution to that is NOT to go ‘Oh, well… I feel pressured, you don’t need to make the effort any more.’ No, the solution is openness and education! If a woman is already not feeling connected and desired in a way that makes her WANT her partner in that way, on what planet does taking the ONLY enjoyable factor away make sense???
