Bruno Fernandes should be ashamed of himself. He spent the entire Premier League season chasing the assist record, and he achieved it. Yet at the Club World Cup, all he seemed to do was pass sideways or backwards. I can’t remember a single decisive forward pass or defence-splitting ball from him. To make matters worse, he was even trying to tell Diogo Costa how to play the ball forward, despite Diogo arguably being Portugal’s best player in the tournament. Come on, Bruno. Take that ambition and creativity back to Old Trafford, because it never showed up when your team needed it most.
