I’m actually not just “bear trained”, but spent two summers working in the provincial park, only accessible by helicopter, outside of Churchill, Canada. There’s a couple methods to keep bears from killing you. The most important things are to not fuck with the hear. Black bears are typically docile (unless a sow with cubs…she will destroy you). Polar bears are MASSIVE, but also generally docile to humans. Grizzlies are never to be messed with - they are grumpy animals that weigh 800lbs. Better understand that. We saw an 800lb grizzly get absolutely destroyed by a polar bear and turned into food….but he wasn’t looking to eat a human. How about common sense…stay away from them, and they won’t mess with you. Simple stuff.
