He rose to fame after signing with Lil Durk’s label, Only The Family (OTF), where he quickly became known for his vivid storytelling style. Tracks like Crazy Story, Took Her to the O, and Why He Told showcased his ability to turn real-life street experiences into detailed narratives that stood out in the drill scene. Before his music career, King Von spent time in and out of the criminal justice system, and his early life in Chicago’s South Side heavily influenced both his reputation and lyrics. After his release, he became one of the fastest-rising drill artists, gaining major mainstream attention in a short period of time. On November 6, 2020, King Von was shot and killed in Atlanta during an altercation outside a nightclub. His death shocked the hip-hop community and cemented his legacy as one of drill music’s most influential figures despite his short career.
