Is it really that difficult? If you have a friend group and someone is trying to claim the house/car/wife of one of his “friends” and shortly after starts a fight with someone else without discussing with this friends group. Why should they instantly come to his aid? This is what this regime did with nato: claiming Greenland and threatening to take it by force.
