MALAMI UNVEILS DIRECTOR-GENERAL AND OVER 600 MEMBERS OF THE ADC CAMPAIGN COUNCIL Distinguished leaders of our great party, respected elders, our candidates, party stakeholders, women and youth leaders, members and supporters of the African Democratic Congress, ladies and gentlemen, I warmly welcome you all to this important occasion marking the unveiling and inauguration of the Director-General and over 600 members of our Campaign Council. Today is not merely about announcing names or conferring titles. It is about establishing a strong, inclusive and coordinated campaign structure that will carry the message of the African Democratic Congress to every part of Kebbi State. The men and women being inaugurated today come from different communities, local governments, senatorial districts and backgrounds. That diversity reflects the Kebbi State we seek to serve — a state in which every community has a voice and every citizen has a stake in our collective future. I particularly acknowledge our senatorial candidates: Gen. Aminu Bande for Kebbi Central, Garba Maidoki for Kebbi South, and Chiroman Kabi, Alh. Mera, for Kebbi North, together with all our candidates contesting under the banner of the African Democratic Congress. This Campaign Council represents our collective ADC campaign. It is not about one candidate or one elective position. From the governorship to the Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly, we must work as one political family. UNITY AND INCLUSION My brothers and sisters, one of the greatest dangers to any political movement is division from within. Tribalism divides us. Sectionalism weakens us. Personal rivalry distracts us. We must reject all three. Whether we come from Kebbi Central, Kebbi South or Kebbi North, whether we belong to one tribe or another, Kebbi State belongs to all of us. No tribe should feel that this campaign belongs to another tribe. No senatorial district, local government, ward or community should feel excluded or remembered only when votes are required. And no genuine member of our party should be pushed aside simply because he or she previously supported another aspirant or held a different political preference. Where there are disagreements, let us reconcile. Where there are grievances, let us listen. Where there is suspicion, let us rebuild trust. Our diversity must become our strength. ONE ADC, ONE CAMPAIGN Politics naturally produces different preferences and loyalties. But once we accept responsibility under this Campaign Council, our collective responsibility must come first. We cannot campaign together publicly and undermine one another privately. We cannot work enthusiastically for one ADC candidate while deliberately working against another. Our principle must therefore be simple: Different candidates, one ADC. Different communities, one Kebbi State. Different responsibilities, one common purpose. The success of one ADC candidate should strengthen the others. Our campaign structures must complement one another, coordinate their activities and mobilise together. When disagreements arise, let us resolve them through consultation and dialogue. No internal disagreement should become a public political war. A CAMPAIGN OF RESPECT I also want this Campaign Council to conduct itself with discipline and dignity. We must not insult people’s tribes, communities or backgrounds because of politics. We must not spread hatred against those who disagree with us. Our campaign must be peaceful, lawful and respectful. Remember that elections will come and go, but our communities will remain. After the elections, we will still worship together, attend the same markets, celebrate together, mourn together and raise our children together. No political ambition is worth destroying those bonds.
