Pink tax isn’t even about color pink tax is the fact that women’s products are priced higher than they should be just because they can charge more. For example period products should be so much cheaper but because women need them they can charge whatever and people will still buy them

A quick google search would tell you guys the pink tax isn’t even about the colors, its about the fact that items marketed towards women is more expensive then that to men. The point is that misogyny still holds place in todays society since its foundation. Women are often less considered, wether its in the medical field where they barely studied the female body until recently, or how only a male body is used to model cars after like with seat belts or airbags where a woman is more likely to get injured by it because they’re not considered.

Apparently I have to explain this again because some of y’all missed the point. 😭Yes, I know supply and demand exists. That was never my argument. My point is that when someone points out the pink tax or possible gender-based pricing, replying with “supply and demand” doesn’t actually address what they’re said. The conversation is about whether it’s fair for similar products marketed to women to cost more not whether basic economics exists. Those are two completely different conversations.

It literally is supply and demand though when more men buy the blue thing the price goes down or stays the same to seam as a better option because it’s a good thing cheaper and blue while the pink thing is bought less the price goes up why you might ask so it seams as it’s higher quality then the blue thing so it seams as it works better and it’s pink and the company gets more money.

Hey so idk if yk but you have the freedom to buy the blue one like they say. You don’t have to pay more for the pink so don’t say you do. You have the option to avoid the supply and demand and boycott corporation greed that they know you will pay for. Your letting them be the way they are by complying and paying more

Supply and demand is literally why it costs more, if demand is high then prices will be too. As well as if a manufacturing company knows you have to buy something they are gonna charge you more because they know you need it. Funny how all the things we complain about circle back to the rich but we are busy fighting each other.
