Khulekani P Khawula :
Thank you Mohau for your balanced perspective. It is important to assess the ANC's record in its full historical context.
The ANC inherited a country deeply divided by apartheid, with entrenched inequality, widespread poverty, and limited access to basic services for the majority. Over the past 30 years, millions of South Africans have gained access to housing, electricity, clean water, education, healthcare, and social grants. These are significant achievements that have transformed many lives.
Economic challenges are real and deserve honest discussion, but they are influenced by many factors, including global economic shocks, the legacy of apartheid, the COVID-19 pandemic, and domestic governance issues. The ANC has also introduced reforms aimed at attracting investment, improving infrastructure, and creating jobs, although many believe more still needs to be done.
Democracy is built on continuous improvement. Rather than dismissing the ANC's contribution, it is fair to recognise its achievements while encouraging stronger reforms and better implementation to ensure a more inclusive and growing economy for all South Africans and apartheid lasted about 46 year's, from 1948 until 1994
