I even use this technique to connect with the spirits of my haunted dolls. It’s really cool to see them as they were in the life they last lived. One practice I never skip is “locking” and “unlocking” my mirror. Before I begin, I make the motion of turning a key to unlock it. When I’m finished, I make the same motion to lock it again. You can use a physical key or simply imagine one in your hand. I have a dedicated key I use for this myself. For me, this simple ritual marks a clear beginning and ending to the work. Over time, because the mirror becomes dedicated to scrying, this gesture helps create healthy boundaries with the spirit world and reminds both body and mind that the session is complete the portal Is closed. If you’re new to walking between the worlds, clear openings and clear closings matter. You should leave your practice feeling grounded, present, and fully back in your body. The veil grows quieter this half of the year. The moon has herring as holder of the mantle of light. Listen with reverence. Walk with discernment.
