@carieadams: 5 things I’ve had to make peace with after divorce as a mom… ❤️ 1. The guilt never completely disappears. Even when you know divorce was the healthiest decision, you still wonder if your kids deserved a different story. 2. My kids didn’t get the family I always imagined for them. But I’ve learned they can still grow up surrounded by love, feeling safe and secure in two homes instead of one. 3. I can’t give them a perfect childhood. What I can give them is a childhood where they feel loved, safe, supported, and know they’ll always come first. 4. Even the good moments can feel bittersweet. Whether it’s holidays or birthdays. there are moments when I’m reminded that it looks different than it did before. I’ve learned to be thankful for what we have now. 5. Love isn’t measured by staying married. It’s measured by how we show up for our kids every single day with love, respect, consistency, and the willingness to put them first. The guilt may never completely go away… but over time, it becomes a little easier to carry. #lifeafterdivorce #lovinglifeagain #momlife #happinessbegins

Yeah I’m 15. I am so depressed and was throughout childhood that my parents broke up. I have trauma now from crying nights in and out, I live with a long heavy heart when i think about it, that my kids won’t have grandparents together, that I have to chose who to see first when I leave to university, etc. don’t get me wrong, my mother and father are amazing , live close, and can co parent well. But it’s the sadness on kids that you won’t have parents together, when you get older to my age and think about graduating, etc. you feel that you’ve missed time with one parent, or argue with one and wish you were with the other. It breaks you. Anyways just me and heaps more teens thoughts
