In many cases, the head and body are sold separately, which significantly increases the final cost. A faceup is a separate artistic service, and clothes, wigs, eyes, and accessories can also be quite expensive. On top of that, many exclusive accessories are only available during limited preorder periods. If you miss that window, you may have to wait months for another chance, or you might never find that item again.
