i know this is old but a full rambo (with neck and belly cover) combined with Zyrtec & equiderma skin lotion has helped my mare immensely!

Not sure if it’s a thing in the US yet but my 3 year old has sweet itch and has 2 injections before spring starts and it’s helped his itching massively, he still has a full mane and tail which he rubbed out last year x

You can talk to the vet about doing Zyrtec or hydroxyzine to help with the itching too!

I start putting a flysheet on starting in April. I’ve found if I can get ahead before his skin is exposed to whatever causes sweet itch he does not get it. I also have a good flysheet (I’ve found some of the cheaper ones don’t work as well protecting his skin) I’ve also found washing it with ivory soap only has helped. For my guy at least putting products and medication makes it worse so I keep it simple and wash it every couple of days if he has a flare up. Hope this helps!

Our guy had the same alopecia from allergies and skin issues… put him on Kineticvet Equishield SA and gave it a month and it worked amazingly for him.

Chlorhexidine wash for that sweet itch. allow it to sit for 10 minutes and rinse.
