nawala na ba sa curriculum ngayon yung formal theme? kasi nung elementary ko (probably grade 2 or 3 ata nagstart) dati sa filipino and english, pinapasulat na kami ng essays. Strictly cursive pa and proper indent and spacing.

Big impact talaga siguro ang technology kaya di nahiligan ng mga bata ang magbasa mas good sila sa listening with visual. Unlike us 90s textbooks basis talaga. At may mga times nun na may nag nagbebenta ng mga short story books sa school like tig 10-15 php. Idk sino nakaranas nun?

I beg to disagree. maraming dahilan o factors why students struggle to read. it's a structural problem rooted from corruption and lack of resources coming from deped. the commo assumption why students struggle to read is that because of the quality of educatio. hindi lahat ng students ay privilige enough for free and quality education, some students grow up poor and broke, making it impossible for the. to access quality education even in their early childhood education which is the foundation of all learning.

I handled Grade 10 and Grade 12 who can't even write simple sentences. They don't know how to read anything written in cursive. Don't know how to add, subtract, multiply and divide simple integers and fractions too. I tried convincing the school management that these need to be prioritized since they are already graduating, done what I was supposed to do in my end but still, reality will hit you that no matter what you do, there are things that will really discourage you especially those things that you can't control. I quit teaching btw, not because I don't love it anymore but because I don't feel like a teacher in this country. Everything is just so draining physically, mentally and financially.

i am an ARAL Reading tutor in elementary right now and super dami po talaga na nahihirapan pa rin sa pagbabasa, lalo na sa english. may iilan pa na hindi kilala ang letters kaya during remedial class, kumakanta pa kami ng alphabet songs 😔 praying na maging effective ang ARAL program para hindi mahirapan ang mga highschool teachers :(

Grade 7 is equivalent to 1st Year Highschool na dba? Nung Grade 4 ako(2008) Lagi kaming pinagbabasa one by one, may spelling bee pa. Ngaun puro modules at puro homework na lang. Dapat nga grade 3-4 marunong nang mag basa. Pero Wala olats na ngaun.

Naalala ko dati, assessment for Grade 1 tapos yung teacher namin pinagbasa kami, eh yung katabi ko di marunong magbasa. Di pinayagan yung katabi ko na mag stay sa Grade 1, balik kinder. Sobra higpit dati.

wtf!!! kami nga bawal tumuntong ng grade 4 kapag hindi ka marunong mag script lettering😭😭😭.thankful ako sa mga teacher ko ng panahon ko dahil kahit nakakatakot sila pero may matutunan ka naman.
