@shoppurplepear: the internet has really warped our expectations of what handmade should cost 🫥 with handmade, you’re not just paying for materials. you’re also paying for the value of the artist’s time, creativity, and years of practice 💓 disclaimer 🚨 i’m not judging anyone for shopping within their budget. instead, i just hope we can recognize why handmade and mass-produced products have such different price tags 💰 unfortunately, many mass-produced prices don’t reflect the true cost of human labor, and in some cases are made possible by exploitative working conditions ⚠️ small artists can’t (and shouldn’t) be expected to compete with that 🫶🏻 the people making those products deserve fair wages, safe working conditions, and dignity too!! supporting artists shouldn’t come at the expense of exploited workers ANYWHERE ❤️ #supportsmallbusiness #supportsmallartists #craftbusiness #crochetbusiness
