This is what I don’t understand. (Low dose!) Retinol is banned from cosmetic products while retinal and tazarotene can still be purchased OTC no problem 🤷🏻‍♀️

spoke to a doctor about this just on Saturday, and she said, "So little of the vitamin A from the retinol would get into the bloodstream through the skin that it wouldn't even be worth mentioning," but they don't trust us and apparently have to protect us from ourselves.

Ive actually heard a doctor say that retinol has a function that other retinoids dont which is that it reverses retinoic transformation in which it takes a step backwards and stores vitamin A in skin for when we become low in vitamin A. So thats interesting
