@shoppurplepear: do girls actually mature faster, or are we simply expected to grow up sooner? 🙃 i think back to being 13 years old in an eating disorder treatment center. by 14, i had been hospitalized again for my mental health. as i went through puberty, i learned how quickly girls are often expected to monitor their bodies, stay alert, avoid making other people uncomfortable, and carry responsibilities that don’t always match their age ⚖️ that doesn’t mean boys don’t face their own struggles… they absolutely do. and not every girl grows up the same way. but for me, “maturing early” often felt less like becoming wiser and more like adapting to expectations i wasn’t fully ready for 🥀 i’m curious how others feel about this. did you ever feel like you had to grow up too fast? 🫂♥️ #empoweredwomenempowerwomen #girlssupportgirls
