This is why those of us who grew up in church see it far much easier. When our practices were criminalised, our ancestors incorporated that into church practices. In fact colonizers already had some of the rituals (Have you hear of the witch trials) and practicing them in church. We grew up seeing people going into trance, taking communion, watching baptisms and partaking. Jesus cursing that fig tree, walking of water, burning bushes, sacrifices etc.
