@theventuringhomestead: Feeding your starter is not rocket science, this is how I keep a happy and healthy sourdough starter without a scale. I usually do same parts starter and water, and then enough flour to get that right, thick pancake batter consistency. Feeding your starter is not as hard as some may make it seem. I usually put mine in the fridge over the weekend, but I do bake daily during the week which is why I leave mine on the counter and feed daily. ##sourdough##sourdoughstarter##hack##tipsandtricks##simple
Do you have a tutorial for starting a sourdough starter?

What do you do if you aren’t sure how much starter is in your jar at the beginning?

If I put it in the fridge instead of bake, can I use it right away from the fridge?

do you discard? Or do you just feed, use or refrigerate, and feed again? Do how often do you feed? How often do you start over or start a new starter

Ok question… my starter doubles like every 2 hours even if I make a stiff starter. Should I feed it every time it doubles? I had a starter go bad/ acidic because I wasn’t feeding it when it peaked. I brought it back to normal but have to keep in fridge now. So I’m worried my new starter will go acidic if I let it fall before feeding. And don’t wanna keep it in the fridge because I heard that bad. If anyone could give me some advice I’d appreciate it 🥰

I have one question when you take it out of the refrigerator do you you let it get room temperature do you have to feed it again in order to get it activated like is there anything you need to do when you take it out of the refrigerator?

Hey! After I used my sourdough starter to make my sourdough. Can I still use that same starter or I need to make a new one? Everytime I feed it again it turns into this doughy consistency!! I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong lol
