@restovivaldi: Homemade Meat Sauce Recipe | The Vivaldi Way 🙌 🍅 Ingredients: 750 grams ground beef (or mix of your preferred ground meats) 1 spanish onion 1 large carrot 2 celery stalks 3 cloves of garlic 1 tbsp fine sea salt 2 tsp dried basil 2 bay leaves 1 100oz can Italian Peeled Tomatoes 🍅 Instructions: 1. Blitz the onion, carrot, celery and garlic in a food processor (chop finely by hand if you don’t have a food processor) 2. Add contents of food processor to a pot and add olive oil, meat, seasonings and spices. 3. Brown the meat. 4. Puree the Italian tomatoes with an immersion blender or crush by hand. 5. Add the tomatoes to the pot 6. Bring to a boil and simmer for 90 minutes

I started making my own tomato/pizza/marinara sauce a few months ago - paying $2 more per can for imported tomatoes from Italy. I’ll never go back to store-bought sauce. 👍

You’ve got to mix enough pasta and sauce so that there are enough leftovers to sit overnight. Always so much better the next day.
