Less forearm and grip involvement With a handle, you have to grip tightly, which can make your forearms, wrists, or traps take over. A wrist cuff lets you focus more on lifting through the elbow and side delt. 2. Easier to “lead with the elbow” For lateral raises, the side delt mainly raises the upper arm. A wrist cuff makes it easier to think about driving the elbow outward instead of pulling with your hand. 3.
