the US is not "selling its emergency oil reserves", it has a surplus thanks to the fracking revolution, they've doubled their domestic oil production, and are selling that extra output, along with millions more barrels that they're now processing in their Teaxas refineries from Venezuela, now that they got rid of Maduro and the entire Venezuela oil industry, the largest oil reserve in the world, is back under their control. The US is making billions in international oil sales every week. The US bond market is still stable, despite indeed issuing a huge quantity of it since 2008 and some loss in value, but international buyers don't really have any alternative- a safer country of commodity to invest in. Both the EU and China are in much bigger debt than the US. Turkey selling its US bonds AND its gold is indeed the most reliable indication of the catastrophic situation that its economy is in, they have very low foreign currency reserves and have to use it all to import all the oil and diesel the country uses, in order to keep the lights on. They might run out of it pretty soon, which is why Ardogan is now desperate to get Qatar and Saudi Arabia to lend him or grant him a life line of money.
