Every world cup this happens we get disillusioned about Mexico winning. This is my 5th time watching the world cup so this heartache isn’t anything new to me. Just for a moment there was this glimmer of hope that we could do it. ¿Y si si? World cup champions? What a joke. (funny one piece reference) I will admit this is the best i’ve ever seen Mexico play and despite it all I am so proud of everyone in the team. They truly gave it their all and I commend them truly. I will always root for Mexico no matter what. We finally made it out of a knockout round, first time since 1986. Ironically we still can’t make it out of the round of 16. I truly believed that we broke the curse but no tragically we didn’t. We had our moments, we made it far as the co-host nation. Four games without conceding a single goal is a milestone achievement and I am so proud. Memo Ochoa even got to shine and we gave him a proper send off. Mi Memo te amo, I grew up watching this guy and will forever be grateful to him.
