The other issue is the fact the vehicles don’t last like they used to. Motors are blowing up before 100k transmissions are junk right after warranty periods go. Leaving people to have to get into something new in hopes it’ll last longer. But it doesn’t.

1. Used vehicle prices are inflated. 2. Manufacturers are building more options into higher spec vehicles to increase the price. Yes, consumers are partly to blame but who is making an affordable car that is not completely poverty spec... no one. They could, but they dont. They are worried about profit not affordability.

Sorry, but that’s just not accurate. They use car market is just as expensive as the brand new car market. I’ve been looking around for a new car and all the vehicles that I’ve seen are used with a dump load of miles and they still want 20+ thousand dollars when you could just put that into a newer vehicle.

bought a 2008 Honda pilot this yr, those things go until they die. $3000 every 5 years is far better than $1000 every month for the next 7- 10 yrs 🤷🏾♀️I do not need bells and whistles to get me places just a running vehicle.
