After Bear grants the wish, Nikki turns back into her real self whenever she sees herself in a mirror or any reflective surface. That’s why she avoids going into the bathroom, and when she finally does, you can hear the sound of a mirror shattering. Likewise, during the boys’ night scene where they’re told to kiss the person on their left, Nikki briefly transforms back into her real self because she catches her reflection in the bottle Bear is holding. Even right after the first wish is made, in the scene where she’s being dropped off by car, Nikki momentarily returns to her real appearance because she sees her reflection in the car’s right side mirror. Finally, in the scene where Nikki has a nightmare and retreats into the dark corner (the one where she has the terrifying, heavily made-up face), the reason she goes there is because it’s a place where there are no mirrors or reflective surfaces that could reveal her true self.
