I started reading one of the stormlight archive books at a cafe and at the time I didn’t own a kindle so I had the giant physical copy and the tables were so small. It was in fact extremely embarrassing 😅 I was so excited to read it though

In my opinion the starting a book in public is not performative because those who are “performative” (aka just doing it to look cool) would be opening from the middle to be seen like “they’ve been reading”.

I get imposter syndrome at the beginning because I feel like people think I’m being performative, but I also get it in the middle and the end because I feel like if someone was faking reading a book that’s where they would turn to and that people probably think I’m faking reading a book basically the whole time I’m reading a book I have imposter syndrome
