@marblechai: 🪷 #mhendi #henna #india #southasian #desi mhendi/henna is something with so much culture, beauty and tradition around it. we should embrace that instead of gentrifying its designs. appreciate the culture associated with it rather than stealing it and making it whitewashed. my fondest memories as a kid has been getting henna from my granny’s trees and crushing them up to make designs on my hands. or my older cousin making patterns on my hands. seeing her all grown up and married now with intricate wedding mhendi on. it’s truly a way to bring people together and something so sacred and special. the designs should be honoured.
