@mtn.alice: I might not be the best messenger for this because it's easy for me to say in my position. After all, I met my husband when I was 25 and I know that the dating climate is rufffff out here for my 29+ friends. But also, for a long time I was convinced that I was karmically cursed to never experience this. The Prophecy by Taylor Swift was how I felt for so many years of my life. I eventually met the right person for me, but it's because I didn't settle for less at the MANY moments that I could've, and got content with being with myself/living life for myself in the interim. You can be in love with someone who treats you good--better than anyone has before even!!--but they still may not have the logistical compatibility required for a longlasting marriage. If that's the goal, pay close attention, don't make excuses, and also get clear on your own motives to get married. If there is any self-imposed pressure to do it because of a social timeline... be mindful of that! The more things you can get on the same page about before marriage, the more peaceful your marriage will be. But hey what do I know? I've only been doing this whole married thing for six months, so take me with a grain of salt 🧂
