I stick to 1250 - 1350 for the most part (I’ll make sure to hit my protein goal), go to the gym maybe twice a week or replace that with walks. There are maybe once every 2 weeks I’ll do a higher calorie day, even with the deficit I don’t feel miserable (balance is the key) I don’t deprive myself I just make sure I don’t over indulge. Over 20lbs down since late April!

you can still eat whatever you want, just in moderation. I've found that when i cut everything i really liked, i couldn't stick to it. i love having a sweet treat after dinner, so i started getting little chocolates that fit into my calorie deficit. i still get the sweetness but in a much smaller dose.

I’ve lost a lot of weight and kept it off by doing a stricter deficit in the weekday and free (not binge) on weekend. Idk it works for me!

That’s the thing. My deficit is 1200 even with going to the gym 3x a week bc im short. Its not that i want to eat only that much but i can only eat that much to be in a deficit

my problem is that my garmin says i'm burning 2000-2200 per day, so i eat around 1500. when i go to tdee and put in sedentary, it says my maintenance is 1600. so do i need to be eating around 1300 to be in a true deficit? i thought i was already in one. also i am 5'2

This is so real. In the past I’ve tried to go to like 1,200-1,400 calories and never could stick with it because I was hungry… now I’m doing 1,600 and being mindful with my food choices - tracking with protein and fiber in mind. I feel like I eat a ton of food at 1,600 calories and am not hungry at all!

What if I'm WAY more active and get way more steps now? like way over 10,000 steps now and am hungry all the time bc of it? do increase my calories and if so by howmuch

I’ve lost 22kg in 2 years. You have to lock in for the long haul. I have 10kg to go. It will take me another year and I’m ok with that. I’ve had lots of maintenance breaks. Usually not by choice, weight loss just slowed down.

How do you know what your deficit should be to begin with? I don't count calories. Never have. But girl...this peri-menopause is killing me weight wise. And I was already a size 18!

My maintenance is 4k calories and my deficit is 3500! It’s only that high bc I’m 6’3 330lbs and very active in the gym and work. I almost gave up on my deficit but now I’m 4 months in and lost over 20lbs of fat and gained muscle 💪🏽🙌🏽
