@aleciaarenee: Genesis 23 & 24 are such a tender reminder that faith does not mean we never grieve, wait, or wonder what God is doing. In Genesis 23, Sarah dies, and Abraham mourns deeply for his wife. This chapter shows us that grief is not a lack of faith. Abraham loved Sarah, he honored her, and he wept for her. But even in his grief, he still moved with wisdom and trust. He purchased the cave of Machpelah in the land of Canaan, which became the first legal piece of the promised land owned by Abraham’s family. That small piece of land mattered. It was a burial place, but it was also a sign that God’s promise was still standing. Then in Genesis 24, we see God’s hand so clearly in the details. Abraham sends his servant to find a wife for Isaac, and the servant prays for guidance. Before he even finishes praying, Rebekah appears at the well. God provides at the right time, in the right place, through the right person. These chapters remind me that God is faithful in both the endings and the beginnings. He is faithful when we are grieving. He is faithful when we are waiting. He is faithful when we are praying for direction. He is faithful when we cannot see the next step yet. Genesis 23 shows us that God’s promise continues through loss. Genesis 24 shows us that God’s provision arrives through prayer and obedience. Sometimes God is working in the quiet details long before we understand what He is doing. A burial place can still be connected to a promise. A simple prayer at a well can become part of a covenant story. So if you are in a season of grief, waiting, transition, or uncertainty, let these chapters remind you: God has not forgotten what He promised. He is still leading. He is still providing.
