With how Minnesota is looking right now losing a whole lot of their scoring depth in Zuccarello, Johansson, and Tarasenko, needing to resign Hughes, and still missing that top center. I think moving some of their chips is a good move and a chance to even go into the top 3 in the central especially with Guenther and Cooley potentially taking that next step. Ofc this can change if minny can fix those problems I listed before.

Unless they got a Matthews or some big name superstar, I don’t see how Utahs gonna leapfrog Dallas/Colorado/Minnesota in the next 3 years. After that I think the mammoth will with their young core all locked up long term. Think this was them buying time
