Imagine buying a brand-new $90,000 car. When you take delivery, a piece of exterior trim is loose, a couple panels aren’t secured properly, and there’s a noticeable gap around the brand-new $5,000 sunroof because somebody cut the opening too large and filled the mistake with cheap silicone. Then the dealer says, “Those are minor issues. They’re easy fixes.” That’s not the point. 😂 If they’re so easy, why am I finding them after you told me the car was finished? And if you permanently installed my $5,000 sunroof badly, telling me “it’s only cosmetic” doesn’t magically give me the quality I paid for. I think that’s where builders and homeowners sometimes see this differently. You’re seeing the cost and difficulty of the repair. The homeowner is seeing the quality of the product they paid for. Nobody expects a handmade house to be flawless down to the molecule. But there’s a difference between a tiny imperfection and unfinished or poorly finished work. If you’re charging new-house prices, the customer shouldn’t have to accept “good enough” workmanship just because correcting it would be inconvenient. “It’s an easy fix” is actually an argument for fixing it—not an excuse for delivering it that way.

When you buy a new car, a small dent or scratch isn't a big deal, right? You're probably gonna damage it more. New phone? A few scratches doesn't affect how it functions.
