Scorsese Livermore-Leanann :
About a year ago I was driving up to stay at my grandmother's house. My family is that "pass your kids around" ki d, so I lived between like 4-8 houses constantly as a kid. Now was when me and my sister often stayed up with grandmother, who lived in the backwoods of Ithaca.
With how far out they were, there was the inevitable point you lost all phone service, so you either needed the route memorized, or to not deviate AT ALL from the GPS, or else you'd be lost and unable to use it unless you found someone's house to use their wifi.
As I was a little ways away from the turn for the road leading to the house, I saw my sister in her car at the stoplight, and then just casually turn and drive past me like she hadn't noticed my car was the one she was passing. But its definitely her, and the car is he's, with a sticker on the back with a custom nickname for our mom, who she inherited the car from.
I immeditally turned around my car, only to find hers completely gone, even though that stretch of road was long and straight.
I sped back down, trying to catch up. I guessed turns. Finally I caught sight of the car way ahead, making another turn.
I take the turn. The car is gone. My GPS is greywd out, the route lost. I drove around lost for a bit before managing to reverse navigate back to the turn, can make the rest of the way to the house without any help. My stomach was low in my chest because I just...knew.
I walk into the house and straight to our bedroom and open the door. She was fast asleep in her bed. I was so focused on trying to follow her I forgot my sister was a night owl, she'd NEVER get up so early on her own.
