I would review the state statues for hardship termination of lease due to moving greater than 50 miles. Consumer protection in Blue Illinois favors the tenant over the landlord. Evaluate a full renewal at current rate and see how law can work in your favor. Many leases allow for termination due to relocation, medical hardship or the need to take care of elderly parents. Run your lease through Claude and have it scan for state and county laws that work in your favor. Outsmart your landlord!

Their is too much unknown. if you renew what's is the penalty for early breaking. 6 month seem like the best option but with the uncertainty of job you may need more than 6 month.
