@ryvesmooremd: POV: Your cast is finally coming off. 😅🩻 One of the questions we hear all the time is, "Does that saw cut your skin?" The good news is - it doesn't. The cast saw is designed to safely vibrate through the hard casting material without cutting your skin underneath. It can definitely be loud, but it's much safer than it looks. Before the cast comes off, we work closely with our X-ray team to make sure everything is healing the way we'd expect. From there, our DME team takes over - removing the cast, fitting braces if needed, answering questions, and helping patients understand what comes next. Getting the cast off is always an exciting milestone, but it's just one step in the recovery process.
