Yessss YESS YES Sarah literally victim/blamed Nikki and told Bear that Nikki isn’t his problem??? Like where is your concern and compassion??? It was so insane. They’re all victims to the Wish (bear included. I don’t think he knew the terms and conditions ykwim), but good god the true horror is the abuse Nikki went through because NOBODY saw her as a human being deserving of attunement and care— and everybody just let it all happen. And yeah. Bear is still abusive even if he wasn’t conscious of his own abuse. I think Nikki is cool because she was trying to get out of the small town and find her own life. She was trying to write about Love in an intelligent way. She was kind to a homeless person. She was trying to break free only to be trapped and used. Ian was awful. Bear was awful. And Sarah was also awful.

for proving your point, about Ian there's this scene that he tells Bear what he's doing is wrong and then he adds I'm on your side or something similar to that. He knows Bear is wrong he just doesn't care enough to do something about it

what i will say is that sarah is the only one in the movie that faces rejection healthily. 1st off bear the obvious one that uses all the back door routes to get nikki to like him back instead of confessing his feelings even when given the perfect opportunity. then there’s ian who imo gives bear bad advice to get nikki to like him back. for example telling him to call her a name which im sure he knew she didn’t like bc he was scared of losing her and in turn facing rejection from nikki. because we don’t see a lot of nikki i don’t know how she feels about rejection. we see sarah healthily facing rejection by 1st continuing to apply to art schools after being regected numerous times. we also see her continuing to persue bear, and while yes, a bad thing to do to her friend, shows that she’s not afraid to face rejection from beat
