Ella Langley is speaking out after months of criticism as her career reaches a record-breaking moment. The country singer addressed the backlash during a recent concert in Columbus, Ohio, saying she has faced more opinions about herself this past year than ever before. “I don't think I've ever had more opinions on myself in my life than I have in this last year,” Langley told fans. She said people have criticized the way she looks, speaks, dresses, moves, sings and writes. At first, the constant negativity bothered her. Langley admitted she even questioned whether she was strong enough to handle the pressure that came with rising in the music business. But then she remembered how far she had come. “The girl that they're kind of picking on is the girl that got me where I'm sitting here today,” she said. Langley recalled traveling in a 15-passenger van and a Honda Accord while chasing her dream, surviving on bar food and tip money. “That’s the girl that rode in a 15-passenger van night after night after night,” she said. Now, that same artist has reached a major chart milestone. Her hit “Choosin’ Texas” surpassed Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which had spent 22 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Langley said the achievement still does not feel real. “I’m genuinely trying to find the words to help explain what’s going on in my brain today,” she said. Despite the criticism, Langley said she is proud of the person who kept chasing the dream. And that may be the biggest answer she can give her critics. #EllaLangley #MariahCarey #CountryMusic #MusicNews #celebritynews
