not sure where this is (i’m in cali) but it’s illegal to charge first month, security & last month. they can only charge 2. & i also believe the security deposit cannot be higher than the rent . those are crazy numbers !

The security deposit supposed to be up to one month rent not double and if they’re charging for the last month, that would be considered your security deposit

This must be a private landlord, because when you use property management companies they just charge you the deposit and then the prorated rent. Becasue why you you have to pay last months rent if you didn’t live there plus a deposit

I would definitely check your state. A lot of places it’s against the law to ask for last month and security deposit. I didn’t know this either and they had to refund me last month’s rent
