He was blind. No one to walk him to the mosque. Every step was a risk. He asked the Prophet for permission to pray at home. The Prophet said yes. As the man turned to leave, he called him back and asked: "Do you hear the adhan?" The man said: "Yes." He replied: "Then answer it." He once even said that if it weren't for the women and children at home, he would burn down the houses of men who heard the adhan and stayed inside. Not a literal threat. Just the heaviest words he had to show how much this mattered. Years later, that same Prophet was on his deathbed. Too weak to stand alone. When he heard the adhan, he didn't stay in bed. He leaned on two of his companions, his feet dragging on the dirt, and made them carry him to the mosque. A blind man with no guide was told to come. The Prophet himself dragged his feet there while dying. We skip because we are tired, busy, or just don't feel like it. But if you knew the exact reward you were missing, you would never miss a single Jamaah again. He taught that praying in congregation is 27 times the reward of praying alone.If he could drag himself there while dying, you can walk there while you are healthy. Note: The prayers mentioned here are the obligatory Fardh prayers. The Prophet encouraged us to pray our Sunnah, Nafl, and Witr prayers at home. Share this in your circle.
