I noticed a HUGE problem in the rabbit barn today… 😳 One of my pregnant does has literally started pulling up the wire flooring in the corner of her cage! She’s due to have babies anytime, and while I definitely need to get that flooring secured, there may actually be a pretty fascinating reason behind what she’s doing. 🐇 As does get close to kindling, those natural nesting instincts can kick into high gear. In the wild, rabbits would dig a burrow to create a safe place for their babies—and apparently this mama is determined to make her own, cage floor or not. 😂 She has a nest box ready, so now we wait to see if all this digging means babies are coming VERY soon! 👀 #MeatRabbits #RabbitRaising #Homesteading
