sooo many people go into computer science assuming there are only a few paths: software engineer, data scientist, maybe product manager but there are actually so many weirdly specific tech jobs that most students never hear about like coding for dating apps, esports, music, travel, creator tools, growth, design, etc i started my CS major thinking I was 1000% going to be a software engineer, butttt I eventually realized I didn’t love debugging random systems all day then I explored product management, growth, content, startups, and now my career looks very different than what I originally imagined :) so if you’re in CS and feel like traditional SWE is not fully clicking, that does not mean you picked the wrong major it probably just means you need to see more of what’s actually out there follow for more computer science survival 🙂‍↔️
