I think Cartier gave all her guests free watches because they know it would go to celebrities and people of influence (free marketing) it would be a rare piece of jewelry that will only retain value because only a select few people would own it ( 1000) rare Cartier watches 😅. Lastly celebrities usually don’t pay for anything brand wise or marketing when your a Taylor swift. She is so famous I bet Cartier reached out to her.

I would also assume that some of these brands made deals with her and provided these gifts free of cost just to be able to have a connection to the wedding. as far as the watches themselves go I would also bet that she had some sort of deal so it's not like she would have paid regular commercial price for them.
