This is a wild take. Statistically mothers are primary parents over fathers because the court deems the father to be unfit/unstable, or because the father’s employment doesnt allign with the child(rens) schedule. Solely because a man chooses things over his kids does NOT mean he shouldn’t have an obligation to financially support his kids.

As a single mother, I believe even if the father doesn’t see the kids he should still provide for his children even if it’s not child support and drop nappies off or new cloths or something off for his children! Mine chooses not to involved, I get absolutely nothing never have gotten anything from him, never met his son! This was all his choice not mine but would’ve been nice if I get even $10 cheap nappies from the store to provide for a child I didn’t make on my own and he originally wanted

definitely depends on the situation bc i left my abusive bd 6 months pregnant and when his daughter wanted him and we tried calling he threatened to bash my head in and i still begged him to be a dad to our kids for over a year and now his moms fighting for custody of our kids for him.

as a "baby momma", I agree. My kids dad and I separated last year but he is a good dad. I have no need or desire to fight him for custody or child support. I much prefer we co-parent like civil adults and try and do the best for our kids

I think if a father is present, does 50/50 with their child then honestly I don’t see any reason he should be spending all that. But the ones who don’t even know their child’s sizing, doesn’t book doctor appointments, bring them to school, make lunches etc, then yeah he should be paying

There are many factors that go into deciding custody and support and they’re all aimed at making sure the children are prioritized - not the parent. Yes, the system can be flawed and no one should have to go to court for custody of their children - assuming they’re good parent.

I filed for child support when our daughter was 2 1/2 months old she’s almost 10 months old and we still haven’t went to court. Making the decision wasn’t easily at first. But I started seeing the inconsistencies and when he looked at me and told me to figure out how to buy wipes for our daughter after I just had an emergency C-section a month early because he wasn’t going to buy a damn thing for her, it made that decision real easy.

I pay 3,600$ a month. Then my kids think I don’t want them because I can’t afford 5k on plane tickets to see them. Fathers have no rights only responsibilities.
