I feel like if you move downtown to where the festivals happen then you should expect the noise for the 10 days once a year and if its a problem for you dont move that close to where you will have to deal with it

The freight trains are far worse and annoying even with the door closed. The music tents were not an issue for us when we lived there. Party on is exactly right 👏👏

I have a place next to the stampede and love it. I never understood why people complain about noise, knowing very well the stampede happens next door every year for 10 days. Like you could have lived in a million other places in Calgary that aren’t next to the stampede. 😂

You sound young. Some people who live downtown have kids that require sleep during the week. Or they are adults that work for oil and gas companies. That bylaw allows them to have rest when normally the noise bylaw requires people to be quiet after 10 pm.

I feel like complaining about tent noise would be the equivalent to somebody like myself who works night shift, complaining about construction noise during the day. Like you kind of know what you sign up for 🤷♀️

We’re neighbours(ish). I’m really happy with the noise levels this year during the work week. I have experienced concerts where the bass shakes our windows during the work week with all doors closed in the past 5 years. On the weekends? Giver it’s stampede! I signed up for this living downtown. During M-F, the midnight wind down this year is a reasonable cut off for both the residents & partiers. Not everyone can take 10 days off work straight.
