the way people don't understand this scene really irks me. the backrooms is not something that can be explained in a straightforward manner. its entire nature is confusing. it remembers everything it touches.

I dont know if it's more haunting that your trauma could be copied endlessly in some vast place over and over again or comforting that your trauma eventually disappears into the distortion of layered memory over layered memory until it is unrecognizable.

I really, really enjoyed this part of the movie. The complex goes on, business as usual as if the events of the movie are but a blip on its radar. Mary wasn’t special for surviving all of it and just becomes trapped in both the complex and in ASYNC, just like she was as a child. Amazing all around.
