Hey Steve. I'm a clinical dietitian. Some general advice I would give a patient in your position. Re the fibre start slow and low, and make sure to increase your fluid at the same time. Go for soluble fibre over insoluble. Use a stool softener like Movicol not a stimulate laxative daily. Great work with the NG tube!!

At least you don’t have to taste the colonoscopy prep 😅 that stuff is yucky yucky yuckyyyyyyyy I finally found out this year you can mix it with crystal light packets without red dye!!! Game changer for me lol

As a PCT on a GI floor. I will personally walk around with my pts especially when they need to get their bowles going. I hate when people say “you can walk here”

Hi Steve! Medical specialist here. I know you are absolutely sick of the hospital but please don’t go home until you are having bowel motions. Even if you feel great. You need to be sure everything is working as it should before you go. It’s better to get it sorted now rather than come back in. I’m praying for poop for you!! 💩
