Caramelized Onion Chili Crisp Pasta 🤤🔥 quite literally the best pasta EVER! Ingredients Pasta
• 8–10 oz fettuccine
• 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
• 3 tbsp butter
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• pinch of salt Flavor Base
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tsp soy sauce (or Worcestershire)
• ½ tsp fish sauce (optional but amazing)
• 1 tbsp chili crisp (plus more for topping)
• ½ tsp chili flakes Sauce
• ½ cup heavy cream
• ½–¾ cup freshly grated parmesan
• ½–1 cup reserved pasta water Finish
• 1 tbsp cold butter
• chili oil or chili crisp for topping
• green onions, for garnish Instructions 1. Caramelize the onions
In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt the butter with the olive oil. Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook for 25–35 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are deeply golden, soft, and jammy. Stir in the soy sauce and fish sauce and cook for 1 more minute. 2. Cook the pasta
Cook the fettuccine in well-salted boiling water until al dente. Before draining, reserve 1 cup of pasta water. 3. Build the sauce
Add the garlic and chili flakes to the caramelized onions and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the chili crisp. Pour in the heavy cream and let it gently simmer for 2 minutes. 4. Make the sauce
Stir in the parmesan and about ¼ cup of pasta water, mixing until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth. 5. Add the pasta
Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet and toss well. Continue adding pasta water a little at a time until the sauce becomes creamy and glossy and coats the noodles. 6. Finish
Turn off the heat and toss in the cold butter until silky. Taste and adjust salt if needed. 7. Garnish
Top with extra chili crisp or chili oil and green onions. Serve immediately. #fyp #recipes #DinnerIdeas #homecooking #explorepage✨
