in the last 5 years, I have driven several different cars, that is, from manual with reverse in "6" speed to 3 different ways of inserting below, above or next to the first, automatic only 2 and both were the same

We have shifters that are completely electronic for autos allowing engineers to use whatever design they want except ANY of the ones that make sense. Honda is the worst offender with buttons for shifting instead of a lever for their odysseys and ridgelines
