Yes, in every state. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that police officers can legally order any passenger out of the vehicle during a traffic stop for officer safety. You must step out, but you still keep your right to remain silent and refuse searches.

The cops are lying there is no law in Rhode Island that says a passenger most show or present an ID. Unless he or she is suspected of a crime or committed a crime.

Even in Rhode Island, a passenger in a car doesn't have to show an ID to police during a traffic stop unless officers have REASONABLE SUSPICION that the passenger has committed or is involved in a crime. Cops are definitely MAGA
