This is another Tracey who joined us at The Blyth Comrades Club on 2-7-2026. In February 2026, Tracey lost her son. Just a few months ago. Her son lost his life after years of drug abuse, and the pain this mam is carrying is beyond words. But when her son came through during the reading, the information he gave me was incredible. More than anything, he wanted to apologise to his mam. He was sorry for what he had put her through. Sorry for everything she had witnessed. Sorry for the years of watching someone she loved more than life itself battle addiction. And he desperately wanted her to know one thing: “Mam, I’m alright now. I’m not hurting anymore.” He wanted her to know that when he passed, he didn’t feel anything. He was found around 12 hours later, but by then he had already gone. There was no suffering. There was no pain. He knew she was hurting because she never really got anything of his after he passed, and he wanted her to stop carrying the anger, the resentment and the thoughts of revenge. Because she already has the most important thing of all. His memories. He then acknowledged something incredibly specific — a friend had bought Tracey a charm for a bracelet. Tracey had lost it, but I believe it may still be in her house, near her bed. I didn’t say that part during the reading, but I’m saying it now because I genuinely hope she looks. He also acknowledged the very special plaque she has for him in her garden, with meaningful words written on it. But what hit hardest was the bond between this mam and her son. In Tracey’s own words, they were “joined at the hip.” They were best friends. She took him all over the world. She took him everywhere. She gave him the latest trainers, the latest clothes, the latest tracksuits, the latest bikes. She gave him everything she possibly could. This lad did not come through blaming his mam. He came through thanking her. Because despite the addiction, despite the pain, despite everything that happened… He knew how deeply he was loved. And now he wants his mam to stop torturing herself. He doesn’t want her spending the rest of her life trapped inside the worst chapter of his. He wants her to remember the holidays. The laughter. The places they travelled. The clothes. The trainers. The bikes. The memories. The years when they were joined at the hip. A mam and her son. Best friends. And above everything else, he wanted her to know: “Mam, I’m alright where I am. I’m not hurting anymore. Please stop hurting yourself for me. I just want you to be happy.” Tracey, I truly hope one day you can find some peace in those words. Because no matter what addiction took from you both, it could never take away the love between a mam and her son. And it could never erase a lifetime of memories.
